Burn Injuries

Burn injuries are one of the top causes of unintentional death in the United States. Burn injuries range in severity from minor first degree burns, to major severe third degree burns. All burn injuries are serious and many can lead to debilitating and lifelong issues such as disfigurement, scarring and pain. Oftentimes, the burns are due to the negligent or reckless conduct of another person or entity.

Burns can result from a variety of sources, including but not limited to:

  • House and building fires
  • Explosions
  • Chemical exposure
  • Workplace accidents
  • Electrical fires
  • Workplace fires
  • Vehicle fires
  • Defective products
Further, smoke inhalation associated with fires and burns can be extremely serious. Hundreds of toxins may be present in the smoke and may increase the chance of significant injury or death.
